Transportation Around Bloomington and the IU Campus

Downtown Bloomington and the IU Campus are very walkable, and we recommend walking or taking public transportation if you are able (if not, please see the parking information below, or contact us with specific concerns).

The Indiana University Campus Bus Service is available to anyone – including visitors – for free. Please see their schedules page for maps, routes, and times.

Bloomington Transit also has many bus routes that service the IU campus. The fare is $1 or, if you expect to ride the bus often, you may wish to purchase tickets or a pass. See the fares and passes page for more information.

Parking on Campus

If you are driving and would like to park closer to the conference location (Woodburn Hall, 1100 E 7th St.), please contact IU Parking Operations. Relevant information is located on the visitor parking page of their website. Options include purchasing a visitor day pass, metered parking, or IU parking garages. Disability parking information is also available at the bottom of the visitor parking page of their website. Please note, those who are staying in the IU residence hall will be provided with a parking pass at no charge.

Conference Housing Options

In an attempt to keep costs low for participants, we have arranged for an affordable housing option with Indiana University residence halls. The set fee is $220 for four nights (arriving Wednesday, May 17th, leaving Sunday, May 21st). Please note, reservations for this option could only be made during the conference’s online registration period, which ended March 19, 2017. We CANNOT accommodate anyone after this date, and we CANNOT give refunds on these rooms. Further details about the rooms are available on our Registration page.

Additionally, many hotels are available near campus and downtown Bloomington. Visitors to IU often use the Biddle Hotel on campus, the Hyatt Place hotel downtown, or the Grant Street Inn (also downtown and close to campus). A full list of hotels, bed and breakfasts, and more is available on the Visit Bloomington website.
